Various products and objects produced by hand, can be found in La Alberca. Holidays are the right time to admire the beautiful costumes of men and women and the rare rustic embroideries that decorate the streets.
Accompanying the traditional outfit, local goldsmithing and silversmithing have created interesting gold, silver and coral jewelry, which have been used as amulets for generations, for fertility, care of children, against the evil eye...
On the other hand, stands out the mountain embroidery with images of floral bouquets or mythological animals, fish and birds, along with other religious motives, that differentiate them from those made in other regions. These figures of traditional embroidery are also used to decorate painted plates.
Among the female traditional costumes you can´t miss admiring the “Traje de Vistas”, whose most striking feature is the set of necklaces and “brazaleras” covering the entire woman’s front, from the neck to the knees. This set of jewelry, is mainly composed of coral and silver, with which lockets, medals and crucifixes intermingle.
“Brazaleras” are a set of silver chains hanging from both shoulders and whose ends have charms and lockets, besides medals and crucifixes: the “Santa Faz”, crosses of Caravaca, Santiago Matamoros with the double - headed eagle, the articulated trout, the heart of the bride, the crescent moon or half-moon, the hoof of the great beast, the coral or jet figa, the Indian chestnut, silver boxes with the Gospels, bells, rattles, bunches of coral, etc.
On the other hand, the male costume is sober and severe. It consists of hat, vest, jacket, nightshirt, sash, pants, bloomers and high boots. In the head, under the hat or without it, usually wear a silk scarf.
We can say that the embroidery appearing in cloths, bedspreads, tablecloths, costumes, or ceramic, wood, ... are one of the hallmarks of La Alberca. Industriousness and attractiveness, as well as the technique of these sets have been handed down from mother to daughter.

The lion symbolizes man, expression of virility, and the bird of one head symbolizes woman.
The tree of life wraps the whole and represents health and longevity.
These brightness and colorful embroideries, fascinate anyone who see them for the first time. Depending on the act, they appear with certain colors: salmon, yellow, green, red, they appear on holiday’s cloths, keeping dark tones like blue or purple to indicate mourning.
The motives may appear on the cloth, but also overlapping in openwork, etc....
