La Alberca boasts a variety of traditional costumes that are worn for major festivals such as Diagosto or Corpus Christi.

The women’s costumes include the dagalejo or zagalejo, worn by young girls; the saya ensemble, worn by dancers and flower carriers; the manteo, typically worn by older women; the ventioseno, worn as a sign of mourning; and the spectacular, richly adorned traje de vistas, reserved for brides and festival officials.

There are two main variations when it comes to men’s attire: a calzón is a fitted, knee-length trouser generally worn by young men and dancers; and a bombacho is a wide-legged trouser traditionally worn by festival officials and local authorities.
